“Thank you so much for coming yesterday. You have helped to clear our minds and room!! We’ve sat in the dining room for the first time in years in the peace and calm. Many thanks.”

Jane helped me take control of clutter... and she found the skeleton in my loft.”

“Jane came to my rescue when I was preparing to move house.

I had realised I had become so overwhelmed living among shocking clutter.

I did not want my new home to be cluttered too, but I simply didn’t know where to start.

I loved Jane immediately. She’s full of smiles and positive energy.

Jane was not the least bit intimidating or bossy. She explained we would tackle a room at a time, and she would take away my unwanted possessions.

We worked together, room by room. Jane helped me sort my possessions into: essential (eg. kitchen equipment and linens); special (photo albums and vintage china); and what I could live without which would then be donated to local charities to be given a new lease of life and help others.

Jane helped me to look at things more objectively and question why I was hanging onto so much more than I needed.

For example, I had accumulated dozens of rolls of gift wrap. Jane came up with the idea of donating it to a local primary school, for art projects. Which they were very happy to receive.

My bedroom was the biggest challenge. My wardrobe was bursting with good quality things I just didn’t wear anymore, which we bagged up and donated to charity.

Jane even tackled the loft, full of things my now - independent sons had left behind.

Over a couple of sessions, I started to feel a lot more confident. It felt liberating, parting with things which had become a source of anxiety.

And it was fun. There was a lot of chatting and laughter along the way.

Jane was amazed I had a real, human skeleton in my loft. It had been passed down from a relative who’d been a medical student in the 1930’s. I have since found a new home for the skeleton, in a museum.

The process of evaluating each object was therapeutic: Jane helped me take control of my home, rather than feel defeated by the clutter.

By moving day, I felt confident that I could start my new life, surrounded by things I treasured.

I learnt a lot from Jane, about creating a happy environment, and she helped me overcome my difficulty in letting things go.”
